NZ tax blog

IRD-sourced reference content for New Zealand individuals, sole traders and small businesses.

How we write

Every blog post on TaxAccountants.co.nz is written to the same rule-set:

  • Each $ figure, % rate, threshold and due date is sourced from a public NZ authority — IRD, ACC, Companies Office, Charities Services or legislation.govt.nz — and the source is linked at the bottom of the post.
  • Each cited fact carries an ISO "verified" date. When a post has not been re-checked in 90 days we flag it; past 180 days an audit script blocks it from publishing.
  • We do not use prohibited superlatives that violate the Fair Trading Act 1986. See our methodology page for the full list and rule-set.
  • We do not give tax advice. Tax advice is provided by CAANZ-member Chartered Accountants and IRD-registered tax agents. Every post ends with a referral to our partner firm, Lynch & Associates, who do.

Posts are written by the TaxAccountants.co.nz editorial team and reviewed against the IRD source pages quarterly. If you spot a stale rate or a broken link, email hello@taxaccountants.co.nz.
